ESV, The ESV Study Bible (Hardcover)
I'm looking forward to seeing this. I like the ESV.
Leif Enger: Peace Like a River
beautifully written novel of everyday miracles
Thom S. Rainer: Simple Church: Returning to God's Process for Making Disciples
Churches cannot do everything, and we set ourselves up to fail if we try. We're merely responsible for doing what God asks. And that's pretty simple.
Hugh Halter: The Tangible Kingdom: Creating Incarnational Community (J-B Leadership Network Series)
A friend gave this. I couldn't put it down. It is the clearest, fullest picture I've seen of a future, missional from-the-ground-up church I've seen. Worship is the result of mission building the community, not the means to it. Rather, the culture has been separated from the church, so now we need to act like it, and love the world in a whole new way. It will be one my most recommended books to those who are open to where God is leading His church.
Robert E. Webber: Journey to Jesus
A discipleship/evangelism process for the church in Post-modern times. Webber bases his process on the model of the 2nd-3rd century church - a time eerily similar in church-world relationships. This is core wisdom for anyone wanting to be thoughtful about discipling today and tomorrow.
Ed Stetzer: Planting Missional Churches
Folks in the Wineskins say this is the current standard.
